Dr. Kaushala Prasad Mishra is a distinguished radiation biologist who served nearly four decades at Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Mumbai, retiring as Professor and Head of Radiation Biology and Health Sciences Division in 2006. He has held prestigious positions including Distinguished Visiting Professor at Hiroshima University, Japan, and Vice Chancellor of Nehru Gram Bharti University, Allahabad. An elected Fellow of multiple national and international academies, Dr. Mishra has led several scientific societies, including as President of the Indian Biophysical Society, Indian Society for Radiation Biology, and Asian Association of Radiation Research. He has been a visiting professor in over a dozen countries, is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Radiation and Cancer Research, and serves on editorial boards of leading journals. Recipient of numerous awards including the H.J. Bhabha Memorial Award and Bhabha Medal (2023), he has supervised 51 Ph.D. scholars, published 350+ research papers, and authored 10 books, with his work widely cited worldwide.
