General Information
International participants planning to attend IMINFECTIOUS2026
in Rome, Italy, may need to apply for a Schengen visa, depending on
their nationality.
1. Visa Requirements
- Italy
is part of the Schengen Area. Citizens of EU/EEA countries and many
other nations do not require a visa for short stays (up to 90 days within
180 days).
- Participants
from countries that require a visa must apply for a short-stay Schengen
visa (Type C) at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their country of
residence.
2. Documents Usually Required
- Valid
passport (with at least 6 months’ validity beyond the date of entry).
- Completed
visa application form.
- Recent
passport-sized photographs.
- Proof
of conference registration (invitation letter will be provided after
registration).
- Flight/travel
itinerary and evidence of financial means.
- Travel
health insurance covering at least €30,000 for the Schengen area.
3. Visa Assistance
- Upon
request and after confirmation of registration, the organizing committee
will provide an official invitation letter to support your visa
application.
- Please
note: The invitation letter does not guarantee visa approval. Final
decisions rest with the Italian Embassy or Consulate.
Participants are strongly advised to check the visa
requirements for their nationality and apply well in advance of the
conference.
