General Information

International participants planning to attend IMAPPLIED2027 – 2nd Edition of InSciTech Meet on Applied Sciences, Engineering & Technology, taking place July 05–07, 2027, in Frankfurt, Germany, may require a visa depending on their nationality and travel circumstances.

Germany is part of the Schengen Area. For eligible travelers, short stays are generally subject to the 90 days within any 180-day period rule under Schengen regulations. Participants are strongly advised to verify the latest visa requirements well in advance of their planned travel dates.

1. Visa Requirements

Citizens of the European Union (EU) generally do not require a visa to enter Germany.

Citizens of certain other countries may be eligible to enter Germany without a visa for short stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period, subject to applicable entry conditions.

Participants whose nationality requires a visa should apply for a Schengen Visa (Category C) through the appropriate German Embassy, Consulate, or authorized visa application center.

Visa requirements may vary depending on the participant's nationality, purpose of travel, duration of stay, and individual circumstances.

Participants should confirm the applicable requirements with the relevant German authorities before making travel arrangements.

2. Documents Usually Required

·      Applicants for a German Schengen visa may be asked to provide the following documents:

·      A valid passport or approved travel document.

·      A completed and signed visa application form.

·      Recent passport-sized photographs meeting the required specifications.

·      Proof of the purpose of travel, such as an official conference invitation letter, where applicable.

·      Travel itinerary and proof of accommodation.

 

Any additional documents requested by the relevant German Embassy, Consulate, or visa application center.

3. Visa Assistance

Upon request and after confirmation of conference registration, the organizing committee may provide an official invitation letter to eligible participants to support their visa application.

·      An invitation letter does not guarantee visa approval.

·      The invitation letter is provided only as supporting documentation for the visa application.

·      Participants are responsible for preparing and submitting their visa applications and all required supporting documents.

·      Participants should apply within the appropriate timeframe and allow sufficient time for visa processing.

Visa applications should generally be submitted to the German mission or authorized visa application center responsible for the applicant's place of residence, particularly when Germany is the sole or main destination of the Schengen trip.
