Biography
Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamil is an internationally renowned expert in Traditional, Complementary and Integrative Medicine (TCIM), medicinal plants, and natural products, with over five decades of research and academic excellence. He currently serves as Director General of Lotus Holistic Healthcare Institute, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and as Secretary General & Head of the Scientific Committee for the Sheikh Zayed International TCAM Awards.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Kamil has held prestigious positions in India and the UAE, including Professor & Head at the Zayed Complex for Herbal Research and Traditional Medicine and Head of TCAM Research under the Department of Health, Abu Dhabi. He has made significant contributions to the standardization of herbal medicines, having standardized approximately 400 phyto-pharmaceuticals and 600 single herbal medicines, and has authored more than 820 scientific publications. A long-time collaborator with the World Health Organization (WHO), he has played a key role in developing international standards for Unani Medicine and advancing global traditional medicine initiatives. His outstanding contributions have earned him numerous international honours, including the First Sheikh Zayed International TCAM Award in Herbal Research.
