Visa Information

General Information

All international participants attending IMASA2026 in Munich, Germany  must hold a valid passport and, in many cases, a Schengen Visa. Please check your country’s requirements well in advance of travel.

Visa Exemptions

Citizens of EU/EEA countries, Switzerland, and many visa-exempt countries (including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, etc.) can enter Germany for short stays (up to 90 days) without a visa.

If you are eligible, you only need a valid passport and proof of accommodation/return travel.

Schengen Visa (Short-Stay Visa – Type C)

Most participants from non-EU/EEA countries will require a Schengen Visa.

  • Valid for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
  • Allows travel within Germany and other Schengen Area countries.

Requirements generally include:

  • Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity)
  • Completed visa application form
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Invitation letter from IMASA2026 Organizing Committee (provided upon request)
  • Proof of accommodation (hotel booking)
  • Proof of travel arrangements (flight booking)
  • Proof of sufficient funds
  • Travel insurance (minimum €30,000 coverage, valid across Schengen Area)

Invitation Letters from IMASA2026

Upon registration, the Organizing Committee will provide:

  • Official invitation letter for visa application
  • Conference participation confirmation
  • Hotel booking confirmation (if arranged through our packages)

Important Notes

  • Apply at least 6–8 weeks before travel to avoid delays.
  • Visa fees and requirements vary by country; always confirm with the German Embassy/Consulate in your region.
  • Carry a copy of your conference invitation and hotel booking during travel for smooth entry.
