Biography
I have been in full-time Specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical practice since 1990 in Brisbane, Australia, and have also served as a long-term external examiner at the University of Sydney Dental School. Over the past 25 years, my research has focused on tissue responses to nutrient-enriched environments. In 2005, both in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrated favourable macrophage polarisation responses to these conditions. Professor Kiarash Khosrotehrani, Director of the Frazer Institute at the University of Queensland, conducted a controlled murine study comparing chlorhexidine gel alone with chlorhexidine gel loaded with a complex nutrient mix. The results showed significantly enhanced healing outcomes, including improved wound epithelialisation, contraction, collagen deposition, and neovascularisation. Since then, Nutritionally Augmented Topical Therapy (NAT) has been successfully applied clinically to support normal healing, including implant integration and the management of challenging conditions such as MRONJ and ORN.

Biography
Dumitru Gogarnoiu earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dental Medicine. He specialized in periodontics and periodontal prosthesis under the guidance of esteemed mentors, Morton Amsterdam and Arnold Weisgold. Following his training, he became the third director of periodontal prosthesis at the university, succeeding his mentors in that role. Currently, he serves as a professor of periodontics and periodontal prosthesis at the University of Pennsylvania while also maintaining a private practice in the suburbs of Philadelphia
