Fábio Fernandes is an Assistant Professor at University of Aveiro. He has expertise in numerical modelling, biomechanics, impact engineering, hybrid composites, metamaterials, non-Newtonian fluids/gels and materials characterisation. He has also been actively involved in innovative technological challenges such as laser welding, marking and processing several materials. Since 2013, he has been an active author with 90 publications indexed in SCOPUS and in Q1-2 journals. Fábio Fernandes participated in 26 R&D projects leading 2 European and 3 national projects. His work has been recognised with prestigious awards and honours, e.g. the 2017 Mário Quartin Graça Scientific award, and more recently, the invention Flattie, a helmet with cork composites, resulted in the 8th edition of BfK Ideas, BikeUp, and the James Dyson (national) awards, and iF Product Design Award. He also has registered patents, one of which was awarded in the IX national competition (PL) for inventors and patents. Other examples of inventions are a new process based on the laser joining of polymers (patent pending – EPO) and a new cork-STF composite material. He received the Materials 2020 Outstanding Reviewer Award in January 2021. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Mathematical and Computational Applications.

Thomas F. George served as chancellor and professor of chemistry and physics at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL) from 2003 until his retirement in 2019. As the university's longest serving chancellor, he oversaw the academic and administrative operations of a university with 17,000 students, 2,500 faculty and staff, 40 academic buildings and a $200 million annual operating budget. In addition, $150 million of new capital construction, renovation and landscaping on campus took place during 2015-17. The annual amount of philanthropic contributions during his tenure as chancellor quadrupled to over $28 million, reaching as high as $31 million in 2014

Paulo C. DE MORAIS (H-60), PhD, was full Professor of Physics at the University of Brasilia (UnB) – Brazil up to 2013, Appointed as UnB’s Emeritus Professor (2014), Appointed as Guest Professor of Huazhong University of Science and Technology – China (2011), Visiting Professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) – China (2012-2015), Appointed as Distinguished Professor at Anhui University (AHU) – China (2016-2019), Appointed as Full Professor at Catholic University of Brasília (UCB) – Brazil (2018), Appointed as CNPq-1A Research Fellowship since 2010. 2007 Master Research Prize from UnB, 2008-member of the European ERA NET Nanoscience Committee, Member of the IEEE-Magnetic Society Technical Committee, Senior Member of the IEEE Society, 2012 China’s 1000 Foreign Expert Recipient, and 2012 Academic Excellence Award from Brazilian Professor’s Union. He has served as referee for more than 50 technical journals, takes part of the Editorial Board of more than 15 technical journals and has conducted research on nanomaterials for over 40 years. He is known for his research in preparation, characterization and applications of nanosized materials (magnetic fluid, magnetoliposome, magnetic nanoemulsion, magnetic nanocapsule, magnetic nanofilm, magnetic nanocomposite, nanosized semiconductors, polymeric dots, carbon dots, and graphene quantum dots). With more than 500 published papers in peer reviewed journals, more than 13,000 citations, more than 200 international invited talks, and more than 15 filed patents. He has appeared in recent World ranking of top scientists, such as 2020-Stanford, 2022-Research.com, 2023-AD Scientific Index, 2023-Research.com, 2024-Elsevier, and 2025-AD Scientific Index

Biography
Yahia CHERGUI is an associate Professor in Electrical & Electronics Engineering Institute, Boumerdes Algeria. He has completed his PhD from Badji Mokhtar University in Annaba, Algeria. He did all his PhD work in Cardiff University in UK. His research field is Physics(condensed matter, and soft matter simulation by molecular dynamics). He has many published articles and international conferences. He has been serving as a referee with condensed matter journal (IOP), Energy journal (Elsevier), and American Journal of Modern Physics.
