What is an Oral Presentation?

An oral presentation is a form of verbal communication often supported by visual aids such as slides. However, it is essential not to rely on slides as a script. Slides should enhance your message—not replace it. Avoid writing your entire presentation or listing all your points on slides, as this reduces audience engagement. Keep your focus on the audience; constantly turning to your slides or reading from a laptop weakens your delivery.

What is a Poster Presentation?

A poster presentation is a visual method of sharing research with an audience. Instead of delivering a talk, presenters display their work on a poster that includes visuals and brief text. Presenters should be available during scheduled times to interact with attendees.

Poster Presentation Guidelines

  • Be ready to explain your research and answer questions one-on-one.
  • Attend your poster during the scheduled session listed in the program.
  • Poster size must not exceed A0 (84 cm x 119 cm), portrait or landscape orientation.
  • Check in at the poster desk on your presentation day.
  • Presenter must be both the author and a registered attendee.
  • Pushpins provided for mounting posters. Return them afterward.

Design Tips:

  • Use large, clear fonts for easy reading.
  • Display title and author names prominently at the top.
  • Minimize text and use visuals to convey your message quickly.
  • Be present to explain your work and exchange contacts.
