Dr. Carl Philpott is a distinguished academic clinician and surgeon, widely recognized for his expertise in rhinology and olfactology. He graduated from University of Leicester Medical School and completed specialist training in otolaryngology in East Anglia, followed by a fellowship in endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery in Vancouver, Canada. He currently serves as Professor of Rhinology and Olfactology at University of East Anglia and as an Honorary Consultant Rhinologist and ENT Surgeon. His clinical work focuses on the management of chronic rhinosinusitis, allergic fungal rhinosinusitis, anterior skull base disorders, and disorders of smell and taste. He leads the UEA Rhinology and Olfactology Research Group, overseeing major clinical research programs, including national trials for chronic rhinosinusitis. He also established the UK’s first dedicated Smell and Taste Clinic, pioneering care and research for patients with olfactory and gustatory disorders. In addition to his clinical and academic work, he has held leadership roles in national professional societies, contributing significantly to the advancement of ENT research and patient care. His efforts have been instrumental in raising awareness of smell and taste disorders, especially in the post-COVID era.

He has over eight years of professional experience across leading hospitals in India, including Star Hospitals (Hyderabad), Ankura Hospitals (Khammam), Bangalore ENT Institute & Research Institute, Manipal Hospitals, and Apollo Spectra Hospital.
Dr. Chintapalli completed his MS in ENT & Head and Neck Surgery from GSL Medical College, where he achieved top academic distinctions and multiple gold medals, particularly recognized for his excellence in temporal bone dissection. He later pursued advanced fellowship training in lateral skull base surgery and advanced otology at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, accredited by the European Academy of Otology and Neurotology (EAONO).
He is proficient in a wide range of skull base, otologic, rhinologic, pediatric ENT, and implant surgeries, including cochlear implantation and bone conduction hearing implants. Dr. Chintapalli has authored chapters in renowned neurosurgical and otology textbooks and published research in peer-reviewed medical journals. With a passion for clinical excellence, compassionate patient care, and academic advancement, he continues to contribute to skull base research and surgical education in the field of otorhinolaryngology.

With over 14 years of clinical experience, she specialises in the management of complex paediatric ear, nose, and throat conditions, with advanced expertise in paediatric airway and head-and-neck surgery. She holds an MBChB, DOHNS, FRCS (ORL-HNS), and an MSc in Medical Education. Her international training includes prestigious fellowships at Starship Children’s Hospital, New Zealand, and at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard University, USA, which have strengthened her global perspective in managing rare and challenging paediatric ENT cases.
