Biography
Dr. Desu is an accomplished senior leader with a proven track record in both industry and academia, specializing in developing and commercializing foundational technologies for the semiconductor, energy, and computing sectors. He's credited with creating breakthrough products like FRAMs, RRAMs, SOCs, and printed memories, successfully transitioning them to high-volume manufacturing. A Fellow of both the IEEE and the American Ceramic Society, Dr. Desu holds 44 U.S. patents, has authored over 240 refereed technical articles, co-edited six books, and over 11,000 citations with an h-index of 60. His prior leadership positions include CTO of 4DS Memory Inc., Dean of Engineering at SUNY-Binghamton, and Head of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UMass-Amherst.

Luca Spiridigliozzi is an associate professor of Materials Science and Technology and a scientific consultant with an entrepreneurial vocation. After earning a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management, he co-founded two innovative startups operating in the field of advanced materials and the circular economy. From a scientific standpoint, he conducts research on the emerging class of high-entropy materials, as well as on advanced ceramics for energy applications and materials for green building, with over 40 international scientific publications. He holds two industrial patents and has received prestigious awards, including the ENI Award and the Myllennium Award. He has carried out teaching and research activities at several universities and is currently a faculty member at Universitas Mercatorum. His personal vision integrates scientific research, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability.

Dr. Sergey Prikhodko’s research expertise lies in the structural characterization of materials using advanced microscopy and spectroscopy techniques. His work encompasses a wide range of methods, including light optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), high-resolution TEM, focused ion beam (FIB), dual-beam, scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM), electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray microscopy. He is the author of over 100 peer-reviewed publications and has delivered more than 70 conference talks. His current research focuses on the properties of titanium alloys, titanium-based composites, and laminated materials.

Albin Kaelin is the founder, owner and CEO of epeaswitzerland gmbh since its foundation in 2009 and has driven the development and implementation of the Cradle to Cradle® design concept in various areas of the company. As early as 1993, he initiated the development of the Climatex® product line, which produced the world's first Cradle to Cradle® products. Cradle to Cradle® design creates recyclable products by setting itself apart from conventional recycling and maintaining the quality of the raw materials over several product life cycles. All materials are considered nutrients and are used in defined cycles at the right time and in the right place.

Dr. Hassan is a Postdoctoral Fellow (RTH-ITF) specializing in battery materials for lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries and fiber optic sensing (FBG) for anomaly detection in Li-ion battery systems. He holds a PhD from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and earned his Master's in Thermal Power Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, with distinction.
With over 30 high-quality publications, his research focuses on high-entropy materials for energy storage and has garnered more than >2100 citations (h-index 17). He has presented at numerous international conferences and received several awards, including a Gold Medal at Geneva Inventions 2024 and the Top Cited Paper Award by EcoMat-WILEY (2025). Prior to his fellowship, he taught Mechanical Engineering at COMSATS University Islamabad for six years.

Dr. Asadullah is a seasoned academic with a rich background in Applied Physics, specializing in Laser Matter Interaction and Laser-induced Plasma. He obtained his PhD in Applied Physics from Government College University in Lahore, Pakistan, under the mentorship of Professor Dr. Shazia Bashir. His doctoral thesis, titled "Effect of Magnetic Field on Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy of Metallic Alloys," explored the influence of magnetic fields on spectroscopy of metallic alloys.
Prior to his doctoral studies, Dr. Asadullah completed his M.Phil in Applied Physics at the same institution, focusing on Laser Ablation, Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS), and Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD). During this time, he authored a thesis titled "Laser Ablation of Mg Alloy Correlated with Breakdown Spectroscopy."
His academic journey also includes a BS (Hons) in Computational Physics from the University of the Punjab, Lahore, where his undergraduate thesis investigated the interaction of matter with electron beams under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Munawar Iqbal.
Currently serving as the Head of the Physics Department and an Assistant Professor at the National Excellence Institute in Islamabad, Pakistan, Dr. Asadullah oversees departmental operations while teaching various physics courses. His dedication to expanding knowledge and solving practical problems is evident through his participation in research initiatives such as the synthesis of ferrites, nanomaterial-based wastewater purification, and LIBS analysis of alloys for medical purposes.
Dr. Asadullah's post-doctoral research at Nazarbayev University's Advanced Materials Research & Laser Technologies (AMRELAT) Laboratory focused on "High Temperature Thermophysics of Refractory Materials." Additionally, he served as an assistant professor at the University of Wah, Wah Cantt, Pakistan, where he taught laser physics and laser matter interaction.
Throughout his career, Dr. Asadullah has made significant contributions to the field, as evidenced by numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles. He has been invited to speak at international conferences and has presented his research extensively. His expertise spans advanced laser system design, spectroscopy, imaging, optical metrology, laser safety procedures, and computer modeling.
Dr. Asadullah's multidisciplinary experience and research skills make him a valuable asset to any academic institution.

Dr Saheli Biswas is a Research Scientist at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO, Australia), working on green hydrogen production via high-temperature solid oxide electrolysis technology and commercialization of the technology. Her expertise lies in renewable energy, electrochemical technologies for green fuel production and decarbonization, product commercialization, ceramic materials development, heterogeneous catalysis, coating formulation and techniques, fuel cell and electrolyser testing, data acquisition, numerical analysis. She has published more than 25 scientific papers and holds 2 patents. She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Monash University, Australia (2019-2022), M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University, USA (2014-2017) and B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from India. She was awarded the Early Career Research and Science Excellence Award 2024 by the CSIRO Energy Business Unit, and she has participated and presented at prestigious conferences like Lindau Nobel Laureates Meeting 2025, RD20 Summer School 2023, and Science Meets Parliament 2023

Dr Muhammad Hafiz is a senior lecturer in the School of Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and an industrial collaborator with Surtreat Solution Sdn Bhd. His work focuses on advanced surface engineering, particularly nanocomposite coatings such as tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) with various doped layers for enhanced mechanical and tribological performance. He has led and contributed to numerous research and consultancy projects involving coating development, testing, and deployment for cutting tools, moulds, and industrial components. His current interests include tailoring nanocoatings for extreme environments, improving tool life and product quality, and translating laboratory-scale coatings into industrial practice in sectors such as manufacturing, biomedical devices, and food processing. He is also deeply involved in supervising students and partnering with local industries to drive technology transfer and practical innovation.
