Biography
Luca Spiridigliozzi is an associate professor of Materials Science and Technology and a scientific consultant with an entrepreneurial vocation. After earning a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management, he co-founded two innovative startups operating in the field of advanced materials and the circular economy. From a scientific standpoint, he conducts research on the emerging class of high-entropy materials, as well as on advanced ceramics for energy applications and materials for green building, with over 40 international scientific publications. He holds two industrial patents and has received prestigious awards, including the ENI Award and the Myllennium Award. He has carried out teaching and research activities at several universities and is currently a faculty member at Universitas Mercatorum. His personal vision integrates scientific research, entrepreneurship, and environmental sustainability.

At the moment, he is also involved in an international project regarding resilience of power energy systems. Dr. Bharat Bhushan is an Academy Professor and has served as an Ohio Eminent Scholar and The Howard D. Winbigler Professor in the College of Engineering, Director of the Nanoprobe Laboratory for Bio- & Nanotechnology and Biomimetics (NLB2), and affiliated faculty in John Glenn College of Public Affairs at the Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio. He received an M.S. in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1971, an M.S. in mechanics and a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1973 and 1976, respectively, an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at Troy, NY in 1980, Doctor Technicae from the University of Trondheim at Trondheim, Norway in 1990, a Doctor of Technical Sciences from the Warsaw University of Technology at Warsaw, Poland in 1996, Honorary Doctor of Science from the National Academy of Sciences, Gomel, Belarus in 2000, University of Kragujevac, Serbia in 2011, and University of Tyumen, Russia in 2019. He is a registered professional engineer. In 2013-14, he served as ASME/AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow, House Committee on Science, Space & Technology, United States Congress, Washington, DC. He has served as Expert Investigator on IP related issues in the U.S. and International Courts. His research interests are in Fundamental studies in the interdisciplinary areas of Bio/nanotribology/nanomechanics, Nanomaterials Characterization, Scanning Probe Techniques, Magnetic Storage, Bio/nanotechnology, Nanomanufacturing, Bioinspired Liquid Repellency, Self-cleaning, Anti-icing, Anti-fouling, and Water Harvesting, Science and Technology Policy. He is an internationally recognized expert of bio/nanotribology and bio/nanomechanics using scanning probe microscopy, and biomimetics. He is considered by some one of the pioneers of the tribology and mechanics of magnetic storage devices, nanotribology, green tribology, and biomimetics. He had introduced the word nanotribology in a title of a Nature paper in 1995 and in a title of a first book on green tribology in 2010. He is one of the most prolific authors. He has authored 10 scientific books, 100+ handbook chapters, and 900+ scientific papers. He is Google Scholar's one of 1248 Highly Cited Researchers in All Fields, h-index - 141+ with 100 k+ citations; Scopus’s one of 401 Scientists for Career-long Citation Impact Across All Fields out of over 8 million scientists from around world; Fourth Highly Cited Researcher in Mechanical Eng.; and ISI Highly Cited Researcher in Materials Science and in Cross-field Category. His research was listed as the Top Ten Science Stories of 2015. . He has also edited more than 60 books and holds more than 25 U.S. and foreign patents. He is co-editor of Springer NanoScience and Technology Series and co-editor of Microsystem Technologies. He has given more than 400 invited presentations including 300+ keynote/plenary addresses at major international conferences on six continents. He delivered a TEDx 2019 lecture on Lessons from Nature.

His research interests include fundamental studies with a focus on scanning probe techniques in the interdisciplinary areas of bio/nanotribology, bio/nanomechanics and bio/nanomaterials characterization, and applications to bio/nanotechnology and biomimetics.

Dr. Erman ERDOĞAN is currently working as an Assoc.Prof. in the Electronics and Automation Department, Vocational High School, Bilecik Seyh Edebali University, Turkey. Dr Erdogan has a BS in Physics, MS in Materials Science, and he has obtained PhD in Nanoscience and Nanoengineering. He has an experience in the field of inorganic and organic nano-structured materials for environmental, electronic and opto-electronic applications. He holds a PhD in nitride-based wide band gap semiconductors from Atatürk University, Turkey. His primary research interests include core-shell nanomaterials, photocatalysis, thermal and photo diodes and detectors, thin film deposition and characterization. He has published more than 40 research articles in SCI(E) journals.

Biography
P. Davide COZZOLI received his MSc degree in Chemistry in 1999 and his PhD Award in Chemical Sciences in 2004 from the University of Bari, Italy. His PhD work, which was in part carried out at the University of Hamburg, Germany, was awarded the “Semerano Award” in Physical Chemistry by the Italian Association of Physical Chemistry. In 2004-2005, P. D. Cozzoli worked as post-doctoral fellow at the University of Bari. From 2005 to 2007 he worked as Junior Researcher at the National Nanotechnology Laboratory, Nanoscience Institute of CNR, Lecce, Italy. From 2009 to 2014 he led the Nanochemistry Division of the CNR Institute Nanoscience, Lecce, Italy, serving as Associate Researcher of CNR. From 2015 to 2019, he was scientific responsible of the Nanochemistry Facility of the CNR Institute of Nanotechnology, Lecce, Italy. Since 2015 he has been working as Associate Professor of Experimental Matter Physics at the University of Salento, Lecce, Italy. Currently, P.D. Cozzoli is serving as Associate Editor of several peer-reviewed journals, among which Science of Advanced Materials, Journal of Nanomaterials, International Journal of Photoenergy, Frontiers in Materials, PeerJ, and Plos One, and as editorial board member of Science China Materials, SF Journal of Nanochemistry and Nanotechnology, Materials, Nanomaterials, Open Material Sciences, AIMS Materials Science, General Chemistry and International Journal of Chemistry and Research.

Prof. Bimal K. Bose, D.Sc. (Honoris Causa), Life Fellow of IEEE, is the Condra Chair Professor Emeritus in Power Electronics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA. A distinguished leader in the field, he is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and has made pioneering contributions to power electronics and motor drives. Prof. Bose has authored several influential books and over 200 research papers, and has served as editor and advisor for numerous top-tier journals. Biography
Dr. Leszek Majewski is a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester. He earned his MSc in Biophysics, focusing on Light Harvesting Complexes of higher green plants, from Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin, Poland. Following his academic studies, he completed compulsory military officer training.
In May 2002, he began his PhD in the Photonics Group at the University of Sheffield under the supervision of Dr. Martin Grell. His research focused on developing alternative dielectric materials for low-voltage organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), including high-k/low-k dielectric systems, self-assembled monolayers, ferroelectric-like polymer insulators, and organic/inorganic nanocomposites. He completed his PhD in April 2005.
Dr. Majewski then joined the Microelectronics & Nanostructures Group at the University of Manchester as a Research Associate, working on novel high-speed planar organic rectifiers and transistors. In 2007, he was awarded an RCUK Fellowship titled "Technology at the Extreme", and in 2012 he was promoted to Lecturer.

His research interests include organic electronics, advanced dielectric materials, and novel device architectures for flexible and high-speed applications.
