Biography
Dr. Igor Pioro is a globally recognized authority in nuclear and thermal engineering, particularly in thermalhydraulics, boiling heat transfer, and Generation IV nuclear reactors. He holds a Ph.D. (1983) and Doctor of Technical Sciences (1992), and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario, Canada.
Currently a professor in the Department of Energy and Nuclear Engineering at Ontario Tech University, he has previously held positions at the Institute of Engineering Thermal Physics (Ukraine), the University of Ottawa, Chalk River Labs (AECL), and has served as Associate Dean and Director of the Nuclear Engineering Graduate Program at Ontario Tech.
Dr. Pioro is a Fellow of the ASME, CSME, EIC, and the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and a Foreign Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He is the author or co-author of over 565 publications, including 14 technical books and more than 100 journal papers. From 2014 to 2024, he served as Founding Editor and Editor-in-Chief of the ASME Journal of Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Science. His contributions have been recognized with numerous international awards, including the CNS Harold A. Smith Outstanding Contribution Award and an honorary doctorate from NTUU “KPI”.

Biography
Prof. Nadhir Al-Ansari is a Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Natural Resources Engineering at Luleå University of Technology, Sweden. With over five decades of academic and research experience, he is internationally recognized for his expertise in water resources engineering, hydrology, and environmental management.
He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Baghdad, Iraq, and his Ph.D. from the University of Dundee, UK. Over the course of his career, Prof. Al-Ansari has held key academic and leadership roles, including Head of the Civil Engineering Department and Vice Dean at Al-Mustansiriya University in Iraq, and Professor and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Bayt University in Jordan.
At Luleå University of Technology, his research focuses on water resource management, climate change, and sustainable development, with special emphasis on the Middle East region. He has authored and co-authored more than 800 scientific publications, including journal papers, books, and technical reports.
Prof. Al-Ansari has also served as an advisor and consultant for numerous international organizations and research projects dedicated to addressing water scarcity, flood control, and sustainable environmental policies. A highly respected scholar and mentor, he continues to play a vital role in advancing global understanding of water and environmental sustainability through his research, teaching, and international collaborations.

Biography
Professor Jan A. Stasiek received his Engineering degree from Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT) in 1972, followed by a PhD (1975) and DSc (1985). He later earned a second PhD (1992) and DSc (1995) from City University, London, UK. He became a Full Professor of Mechanical Engineering in 2005.
He has held visiting fellowships at RWTH Aachen, the University of Munich, and the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) Stockholm, and has collaborated with several European universities. His research focuses on thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, energy conversion, flow visualization, and renewable energy systems.
Professor Stasiek has authored over 320 publications, including 15 monographs, and supervised six PhD theses. He served as Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (2008–2016) and Head of the Department of Thermal Technology (2000–2012) at GUT. In recognition of his scientific contributions, he received the First Prize for Scientific Achievements from the Prime Minister of Poland in 2009. Since 2022, he has been Professor Emeritus at Gdańsk University of Technology.

Prof. Hanshen Li received his B.S.E. degree in Electric Power Engineering and Automation from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China, dual M.E. degrees in Electrical Engineering from SJTU and in Information, Production and Systems Engineering from Waseda University, Japan, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), Beijing. Since 2023, he has been a researcher at the China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI). His research focuses on the planning and operation of active distribution networks, and he has published over 50 papers with more than 200 citations. Prof. Li serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Energy Science and Technology (since 2023) and EcoEnergy (since 2025), and is a member of IEEE, IEEJ, CSEE, and CES.

Distinguished Professor Huu Hao Ngo (Hao) is an award-winning and world-leading environmental engineering researcher with a particular interest in wastewater treatment and reuse and environmental biotechnology for sustainable development. Hao has made it his mission to have his work published in high-impact journals, to work with quality collaborators, and to be an active and leading member of the global network of scholars in his field by editing top journals and reviewing the papers of others.
As a Distinguished Professor of Environmental Engineering and Deputy Director of the Centre for Technology in Water and Wastewater at UTS, Hao helps develop innovative technologies that deliver abundant supplies of recycled water and green and sustainable technologies for clean energy and materials towards practical zero emission. He is also co-director of the Joint Research Centre for Protective Infrastructure Technology and Environmental Green Bioprocess, which was formed by China's Tianjin Chengjian University and UTS. He also served as President of the International Bioprocessing Association (2021-2024), a Fellow of the International Water Association, and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Bioprocessing Association. He is currently the founder and Executive Coordinator of the newly established Australasia Practical Zero Emissions Society (APZES)

Biography
Wanjun Huang received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering and automation from Zhejiang University in 2016, and the Ph.D. degree from The University of Hong Kong in 2020. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the School of Data Science, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China, and the Department of Information Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China in 2021 and 2022, respectively. She is now an associate professor with the School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering, Beihang University, China, and an associate researcher with the Shenzhen Institute of Beihang University, China. Her research interests include voltage stability, optimal power flow, distribution network reconfiguration, and the application of machine learning in power systems.

Dr. Ruomei Li is a distinguished leader in the global power and energy engineering community, with more than four decades of experience in electrical engineering, power system planning, energy efficiency, and international engineering cooperation. She is a Fellow of AETDEW, Senior Member of IEEE, and Honorable Member of CIGRE, recognized worldwide for her technical contributions and her leadership in major engineering organizations.
Dr. Li received her Ph.D. from the University of Bath, UK (2000), her M.E. from CEPRI, China (1989), and her B.E. from Hefei University of Technology, China (1982). She was also a Visiting Scholar at UMIST, UK (1994–1995) under the Lee Kai Hueng Fellowship.
Beginning her career in 1982, Dr. Li worked at the Anhui Power Dispatching Center (1982–1986) and later as a researcher at CEPRI (1989–1994), specializing in power system planning and simulation. She later became Chief Engineer of Science & Technology at CEPRI (2000–2004). Throughout her career, she has received numerous national and international honors, including the National First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress (2008) and the IEEE PES Wanda Reder Pioneer in Power Award (2019).
Dr. Li has held major leadership roles in international engineering bodies. She served as Deputy Secretary General/Secretary General of CSEE (2004/2009–2013) and contributed significantly to CIGRE, CIRED, IEEE PES, and WFEO. She was Chair of CIGRE AORC (2010–2012), a member of CIGRE AC/SC (2005/2006–2014), member of the Distribution Committee of CIRED (2007–2016), and Vice Chair of WFEO Committee on Energy (2012–2016). She also served as WIP Chair of IEEE PES (2020–2021) and was a member of the Executive Council of WFEO (2015–2023).
Currently, Dr. Ruomei Li plays an active role in advancing global sustainable energy initiatives. She serves as Vice President of New Future Foundation Inc., Vice Chair of the Dual Carbon Branch of the China Energy Research Society (CERS), and Task Group Chair for Energy Efficiency within the WFEO Energy Committee (since 2023). Her recent work focuses on carbon neutrality, energy efficiency, and international collaboration in the energy sector.

Professor Zhibin Yu currently holds the Chair of Energy Engineering in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Liverpool. He is the Head of the Energy Research Cluster within the School of Engineering and holds a Royal Society Industrial Fellowship (2023–2027). Previously, he held academic positions at the James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, including Lecturer (2012–2017), Senior Lecturer (2017–2019), and Professor of Thermal Energy (2019–2023). His research focuses on thermal energy technologies, with particular interest in their underlying thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid-dynamic challenges. He is committed to developing innovative solutions for sustainable heating, cooling, and thermal power generation, with expertise spanning heat pumps, refrigeration, energy storage, district heating and cooling networks, organic Rankine cycle systems, and thermoacoustics. Professor Yu has led or contributed to over 36 research projects with a combined value exceeding £30 million, funded by EPSRC, Innovate UK, Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, and the European Commission. He has published around 200 research papers and is the inventor of the Flexible Heat Pump Cycle (PCT reference: WO2022069581A1), a technology that enables the next generation of high-efficiency, flexible heat pumps. He currently serves as Associate Editor for Applied Energy (Elsevier) and npj Thermal Science and Engineering (Springer Nature), Subject Editor for Applied Thermal Engineering (Elsevier), and Section Editor-in-Chief for Frontiers in Thermal Engineering. He also sits on the editorial boards of Energy Reports (Elsevier) and the International Journal of Green Energy (Taylor & Francis). Professor Yu is a Board Director of the International Association for Green Energy and previously served as Chair of the 15th International Green Energy Conference, hosted at the University of Glasgow.
