Distinguished Professor Huu Hao Ngo (Hao) is an award-winning and world-leading environmental engineering researcher with a particular interest in wastewater treatment and reuse and environmental biotechnology for sustainable development. Hao has made it his mission to have his work published in high-impact journals, to work with quality collaborators, and to be an active and leading member of the global network of scholars in his field by editing top journals and reviewing the papers of others.
As a Distinguished Professor of Environmental Engineering and Deputy Director of the Centre for Technology in Water and Wastewater at UTS, Hao helps develop innovative technologies that deliver abundant supplies of recycled water and green and sustainable technologies for clean energy and materials towards practical zero emission. He is also co-director of the Joint Research Centre for Protective Infrastructure Technology and Environmental Green Bioprocess, which was formed by China's Tianjin Chengjian University and UTS. He also served as President of the International Bioprocessing Association (2021-2024), a Fellow of the International Water Association, and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Bioprocessing Association. He is currently the founder and Executive Coordinator of the newly established Australasia Practical Zero Emissions Society (APZES)

Biography
Wanjun Huang received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering and automation from Zhejiang University in 2016, and the Ph.D. degree from The University of Hong Kong in 2020. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the School of Data Science, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China, and the Department of Information Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China in 2021 and 2022, respectively. She is now an associate professor with the School of Automation Science and Electrical Engineering, Beihang University, China, and an associate researcher with the Shenzhen Institute of Beihang University, China. Her research interests include voltage stability, optimal power flow, distribution network reconfiguration, and the application of machine learning in power systems.

Biography
Dr. Ruomei Li is a distinguished leader in the global power and energy engineering community, with more than four decades of experience in electrical engineering, power system planning, energy efficiency, and international engineering cooperation. She is a Fellow of AETDEW, Senior Member of IEEE, and Honorable Member of CIGRE, recognized worldwide for her technical contributions and her leadership in major engineering organizations.
Dr. Li received her Ph.D. from the University of Bath, UK (2000), her M.E. from CEPRI, China (1989), and her B.E. from Hefei University of Technology, China (1982). She was also a Visiting Scholar at UMIST, UK (1994–1995) under the Lee Kai Hueng Fellowship.
Beginning her career in 1982, Dr. Li worked at the Anhui Power Dispatching Center (1982–1986) and later as a researcher at CEPRI (1989–1994), specializing in power system planning and simulation. She later became Chief Engineer of Science & Technology at CEPRI (2000–2004). Throughout her career, she has received numerous national and international honors, including the National First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress (2008) and the IEEE PES Wanda Reder Pioneer in Power Award (2019).
Dr. Li has held major leadership roles in international engineering bodies. She served as Deputy Secretary General/Secretary General of CSEE (2004/2009–2013) and contributed significantly to CIGRE, CIRED, IEEE PES, and WFEO. She was Chair of CIGRE AORC (2010–2012), a member of CIGRE AC/SC (2005/2006–2014), member of the Distribution Committee of CIRED (2007–2016), and Vice Chair of WFEO Committee on Energy (2012–2016). She also served as WIP Chair of IEEE PES (2020–2021) and was a member of the Executive Council of WFEO (2015–2023).
Currently, Dr. Ruomei Li plays an active role in advancing global sustainable energy initiatives. She serves as Vice President of New Future Foundation Inc., Vice Chair of the Dual Carbon Branch of the China Energy Research Society (CERS), and Task Group Chair for Energy Efficiency within the WFEO Energy Committee (since 2023). Her recent work focuses on carbon neutrality, energy efficiency, and international collaboration in the energy sector.

Biography
Professor Zhibin Yu currently holds the Chair of Energy Engineering in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Liverpool. He is the Head of the Energy Research Cluster within the School of Engineering and holds a Royal Society Industrial Fellowship (2023–2027). Previously, he held academic positions at the James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, including Lecturer (2012–2017), Senior Lecturer (2017–2019), and Professor of Thermal Energy (2019–2023). His research focuses on thermal energy technologies, with particular interest in their underlying thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid-dynamic challenges. He is committed to developing innovative solutions for sustainable heating, cooling, and thermal power generation, with expertise spanning heat pumps, refrigeration, energy storage, district heating and cooling networks, organic Rankine cycle systems, and thermoacoustics. Professor Yu has led or contributed to over 36 research projects with a combined value exceeding £30 million, funded by EPSRC, Innovate UK, Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, and the European Commission. He has published around 200 research papers and is the inventor of the Flexible Heat Pump Cycle (PCT reference: WO2022069581A1), a technology that enables the next generation of high-efficiency, flexible heat pumps. He currently serves as Associate Editor for Applied Energy (Elsevier) and npj Thermal Science and Engineering (Springer Nature), Subject Editor for Applied Thermal Engineering (Elsevier), and Section Editor-in-Chief for Frontiers in Thermal Engineering. He also sits on the editorial boards of Energy Reports (Elsevier) and the International Journal of Green Energy (Taylor & Francis). Professor Yu is a Board Director of the International Association for Green Energy and previously served as Chair of the 15th International Green Energy Conference, hosted at the University of Glasgow.
